The bright orange of the 40’ containers stored in the container ports of the nineteen eighties were sure to catch everyone's eye. They signified the end of an era when these reloading sites were dominated by silver-grey steel boxes. WIKING has opted to add to their selection the last seventies’ version of the type 1632 cubic series. The large 40’ container thus seamlessly ties in with the container history WIKING began to write with an earlier release. Inspired by his avid passion for maritime themes, company boss Fritz Peltzer himself oversaw the endeavour of bringing these logistics boxes to the new age of transport by roadway, rail and ship and introducing them to the H0 scale. In doing so, he established a wide variety of tractor-trailer combinations for countless collectors and model railway enthusiasts alike
