Admittedly, the Hamburg Tempo works built hundreds of their own sought-after vans every week. However, they depended on the Opel Blitz for their factory traffic. It was regarded as a reliable delivery vehicle for the procurement of tools and individual parts. This type of use reflected exactly the purpose for which the Rüsselsheim post-war transporter was intended. The Blitz bonnet truck was considered an all-purpose truck not only during the war years, but also in the years that followed. Without the Opel Blitz from the war years, reconstruction after the war would have become more gruelling. The flatbed lorry was revered as reliable, especially since spare parts were still readily available.
