Rapido Trains Inc. is delighted to offer a special release of our Superior Stainless Mid-Train Dome with all new (and improved!) tooling.

Everybody loves a good dome car, and both Canadian Pacific and VIA Rail have almost always run The Canadian with a minimum of two per train. Since the late 1990s, four domes has been the de-facto standard in the high season. And like the other Budd cars, Skylines have also been standard fare on the Atlantic, Ocean and lots of other trains. Heck - we even chartered our own Skyline back in 2015!

The Skyline cars feature two different interior arrangements:
Dome-Coach (1955-1983) has coach seats on the lower level of the long end and operates long-end forward.
Dome-Coffee Shop (1983-present) has a coffee shop on the lower level of the long end and operates short-end (lounge) forward.

The Rapido Mid-Train Dome Car features:
Fully decorated and assembled with factory-installed grab irons
Realistic stainless steel finish
Full underbody detail with air, steam and electrical lines
Fully detailed and decorated interiors - both as-built and rebuilt coffee-shop
Window blinds at different heights for each car
Operating diaphragms with etched-metal end gates
Magnetic metal knuckle couplers at the correct height
Free-rolling trucks with metal wheelsets and integral power pickups
Track-powered interior lighting including dome lights
22” Minimum radius (can be modified for 18” minimum)
