Description:
The Berlin’s forwarder Harry W. Hamacher has been known to WIKING fans for quite a while now. The traditional model makers now undertook to miniaturise the Hanomag HD5N based on the prototype of the same name. Even though they started dabbling in lorry construction as early as the thirties, Hanomag never enjoyed true success in the civil segment of the market. This failure led them to develop a five-tonne vehicle in 1948, which was based on the ST 100 tractor unit, but was too light on horsepower at 100 HP. 1948/49 then witnessed the launch of the HD5N lorry with the same engine, a vehicle that had technically matured and featured an extended wheel base and a front axle that had been moved back. After two years, a modest number of only 41 vehicles had been built - far too few to talk about an economically feasible production that offered opportunities for further development. This development led Hanomag to focus on heavy-duty lorries with 1.5 to 3 tonnes, which turned out to be a success.

Driver's cab with radiator grille and plank bed without boardwalls in dark chocolate brown. Roof pearl white, seat olive brown. Chassis with cardan part and wheel rims black. Pearl white door imprint with Berlin business lettering “Harry W. Hamacher”. Radiator grille black, Hanomag lettering imprinted silver. Tail lights red.
