It formed the heart of all major fire brigades in the fifties: Delivered as the LF 16 fire engine, the Magirus round hood provided everything a fire engine crew needed at the time. The definitive fire engine from Ulm transported crew and equipment to the scene. This dual purpose is immediately apparent from the two-partition design the model has carried over from its real-life brother. Especially the long group cab accommodating the nine crew members contributes to the imposing character of this fire truck – which is rounded out by scaling ladder sections, an extending ladder on the roof, and a hose reel on the rear. The cab also features interior furnishings including rear bench seats that face each other. Also new is the angular superstructure, a departure from the rather boxy superstructure with roof railing found in the familiar TLF 16, paired with the true-to-prototype engravings for the gear compartments on the sides and the rear. Integrated into the roof superstructure is the standard-compliant load composed of four-part scaling ladder and three-part sliding ladder - the hose reel is limbered up on the rear.
