The Dacia 1300 is a passenger car that was developed on basis of the Renault 12 and produced by the Romanian car brand Dacia between 1969 and 1982 (production of the Renault 12 ended in 1980). 
The body, engine and chassis of the two models were identical, but the Dacia version was somewhat more simply equipped and of a lower quality. The Dacia 1300 was extremely popular in Romania and other Eastern European countries and became an icon of Romanian automotive engineering. In almost 35 years of production, almost two million units were manufactured. 
The car was also exported to numerous countries, including Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.
