It sprang from historical WIKING moulds and stands as a rock in the surf of automotive chronology: The VW Beetle 1200 was loved by the contemporaries of West Germany’s Economic Miracle like no other passenger car. An endurance runner through and through, it simply "runs and runs and runs", as VW’s advertising used to famously tout. And indeed, every Beetle model upgrade is sure to find its fans quickly, as everyone knows that the legendary VW bread-and-butter car has helped contribute to the success of WIKING since the introduction of their model vehicles in 1948. Green beige was considered the colour of modesty – admittedly before the rise of the Flower Power generation that was soon to follow.
