Subtle contrast is certainly appreciated: WIKING miniaturizes the coupé version of the DKW 1000 with glossy ivory beige paint and a white roof. Colour schemes like this were favoured at the time and were commonly found on the order list of this two-stroke vehicle. From 1958 to 1963, Auto Union produced over 171,000 limousines under the moniker of Auto Union 1000, including the coupé version. However, WIKING only made the DKW coupé available to retailers between 1960 and 1964. This is somewhat surprising as the vehicle’s model-making aesthetics would have merited a longer presence in the product selection. This shortcoming has now been corrected with this bi-colour version.

Radiator grille with Audi rings as well as hood handle on the rear with Audi rings and “1000” model designation painted silver, just as the petrol cap and the hinges on the boot. Side door handles and ornamental trim imprinted silver. Tail lights red. Wheel rims hand-painted in silver with white wall imprint on the tyres. Headlamps hand-painted silver.
