With the introduction of a street sweeper based on the legendary Mercedes-Benz chassis of the cubic mid-range generation, WIKING is reviving an important piece of municipal transport history on the 1:87 scale. In the sixties and seventies, the cubic cabs from Stuttgart, serving as the backbone of the municipal fleets, significantly shaped the image of German municipal building yards, which is why the combination now implemented with the specialized sweeper body conceived by Schörling, the manufacturer of the original, is sure to find favour with collectors. The new model captures with superior precision the aesthetics of the municipal service routine these custom special-purpose vehicles completed every day and impresses with a depth of detail that ranges from the accurately reproduced rotating brooms to the finely modelled structure of the waste bin. As usual, WIKING attaches great importance to historical authenticity: The striking lines of the cubic cab were implemented true to scale by former master model maker Alfred Kedzierski, while the classic municipal livery and the fine imprints identify the vehicle as an authentic workhorse of past decades. This novelty fills an important gap in the range of municipal commercial vehicles typifying the cubic era and offers an ideal complement to any authentic depot diorama.
