Description:
The Henschels were once parked rank and file at Swiss freight forwarder Friderici. In hindsight, there can be no doubt: The appreciation the lorries from Kassel enjoyed extended far beyond the Alps â and allowed the Henschel cab-over-engine to win over the Swiss confederates as well. Those digging into the history of the Swiss forwarding company Friderici will find a long chapter on the loyalty the company used to show towards the lorry makers from Kassel. After initially rolling into the product selection as a dump truck, the Henschel now emerges from historical moulds and returns as a Friderici model. Back then, WIKING had designed the combination of a Henschel chassis with a slid-on, yet fixed-in-place body based on the roll-off principle. The Henschel, like two WIKING models based on the Friderici model that had been realised earlier, has earned the right to spring from historical moulds and live a second life in authentic forwarding company colours. No list of vehicles that embody absolute brand loyalty and striking fleets in European transport history is complete without the vehicle pool of Swiss freight forwarder Friderici from Morges on Lake Geneva. Gaining international fame after the Second World War by, among other things, performing aid transports for the Red Cross, the family business early on formed a deep affinity for the heavy commercial vehicles of Kassel truck manufacturer Henschel. This combination of Swiss precision in special transports and the force of nature that is Henschel from North Hesse still enjoys absolute cult status among truck historians and model enthusiasts today. The legendary long hood vehicles such as the Henschel HS 140 or the later mighty cab-over-engine vehicles were made for heavy-duty service. Only a few Mercedes-Benz were found in the fleet at the time â as Henschel was the figurehead for dozens of trucks. Driver's cab dust grey, interior tent grey. Chassis, cardan shaft as well as roll-off unit and skip with flatbed insert dust grey. Front imprint with silver Henschel lettering and Henschel star. Driver's cab doors with Friderici logo. Door handles painted silver. Indicators orange, tail lights imprinted carmine red. UPC: 4006190645065
